Timing is Everything

Timing is Everything
when it comes to Social Media Marketing

For the last few weeks I have been keeping track of the most likes, retweets, shares, comments, messages, etc .. and these are the best times to post to the most popular social media networks. Each day seemed to be about the same time frame Monday - Friday.

FACEBOOK: 1 PM - 4 PM
9 PM - 11 PM

TWITTER: 1 PM - 3 PM

INSTAGRAM: 5 PM - 8 PM

GOOGLE + : 9 AM - 11 AM

LINKEDIN: 5 PM - 6 PM

PINTEREST: 8 PM - 11 PM

Think about when you are scheduling your post. Start making note of times you have the most likes, comments, tweets, shares, messages, etc --- Remember CONSISTENCY is the KEY to Social Media Marketing Success!!!

Boost Your Facebook Engagement

Is your small business on Facebook?
Are you looking for better ways to engage your fans?
Small businesses are winning on Facebook more than ever before.

Facebook can help you reach all the people who matter most to your business

Create the hub for your business on Facebook

Your Facebook Page makes your business:
  • Discoverable: When people search for you on Facebook, they’ll be able to find you.
  • Connected: Have one-on-one conversations with your customers, who can like your Page, read your posts and share them with friends, and check in when they visit.
  • Timely: Your Page can help you reach large groups of people frequently, with messages tailored to their needs and interests.
  • Insightful: Analytics on your Page will give you a deeper understanding of your customers and your marketing activities.
When you set up your Page, you can request a web address like facebook.com/lessocialsolutions which makes it easy to find. To maximize the impact, include this address on your business card, website and other marketing materials.
Remember: your Page is an extension of your business. It’s an easy way to share updates and more with the people who matter most. It’s ready to help you engage your customers on desktop and on mobile.

Don't forget to Post consistently.  being consistent in the quality and types of ongoing posts you create can help your audience know what kinds of messages to expect from you.  Schedule posts for when most of your audience is online. Check out www.buffer.com

Target your posts
Depending on your goals, you may want to post something that will interest people in specific ages, genders or more.
Here's the easiest way to control who sees a particular post:
  1. At the top of your Page click Settings, then click Post Targeting and Privacy and check the box
  2. Then, begin writing a new post on your Page
  3. When you're done, select the target icon in the bottom left corner and click Add Targeting
  4. Target your post based on gender, interests, age, location and more. As you refine your targeting, you'll be able to see how many people your post could potentially reach.
  5. Click Post

How to use Facebook to promote your business

  1. 1Find out if your customers are on Facebook; and whether they expect to find your business there. If you run any kind of consumer-facing enterprise, such as a café, a shop, a plumbing business or an ecommerce website, many of your customers will want to keep in touch on Facebook.
  2. 2Register for your free account. Getting started on Facebook is quick and easy. You don’t necessarily need a personal page to create a business page but it can be a good way to drive traffic to your business page.
  3. Tell people you are on Facebook. Use other social networks, like Twitter, to post links to your Facebook page, put details of it on your website and all your marketing literature, and include a link below your email signature.
  4. 4Make the most of your profile. Include appropriate images, a link to your website, an overview of your company and a description of your product or service.
  5. Use keywords in your profile and posts that people are most likely to search for in relation to your product so your page appears more prominently in search engine results. A key advantage of having a Facebook page for your business is that customers will be able to find you more easily from their mobile devices.
  6. 6Post content that people typically enjoy on Facebook. Images, in particular, tend to attract the most likes, shares and comments. According to Facebook, images account for 75% of content posted by brands. The content you post should show the human side of your business but make sure it is in line with your brand values and does not damage your reputation.
  7. 7Use advertising to reach out to specific groups of people. Facebook allows you to target ads based on everything from location and demographics to behaviour and interests or even a combination of these.
  8. 9Engage with your followers. Facebook users love to talk to real people and share their news and views. Reply to queries and respond to comments, including any complaints. You can also encourage discussion and feedback — positive user-generated content provides a very powerful endorsement for your business.
  9. 8Direct people to your own website or blog from your Facebook page. Set your blog’s RSS feed so that you automatically publish snippets on your Facebook page to encourage followers to visit your website.
  10. 9Reward your Facebook followers by running competitions or providing exclusive deals. Many people use Facebook to find special offers that aren’t available elsewhere.

Do:

  • understand your Facebook audience
  • create an appealing business page
  • engage with your followers

Don't:

  • be too formal or business-like
  • post comments that could damage your brand
  • ignore feedback

How to Plan/Host a Successful Facebook Event/Party

WHY Hold A Facebook Party?

Increase sales
Hold more parties each month
Hold a Mystery Hostess Party – offer those who place an order in your FB party the chance to be entered to win the hostess benefits!
Reduce Cancellations
Wintery Weather – not a problem anymore!
Sick children – for you or the hostess
Not many people coming to the party – hostess can definitely OVER invite on a Facebook party!
How A Facebook Party Works

The process is simple. This is how a Facebook party works:

Set up an event in Facebook – everything happens inside the event.
Invite your hostess and have her invite as many friends as she’d like – no limit, she doesn’t have to worry about fitting them all in her living room!
Depending on how far out the party is, post something regularly – even daily in the event… without marketing!

Your lead up posts should be fun and informative – a quote, a picture, etc.
Greet every new attendee! Just like at a real party you should make them feel welcome!
Post the morning of, and an hour before to remind.
Post something on your wall, tagging your hostess about how excited you are for her Facebook party – her friends will see it! (about 15 minutes prior to the event)
Invited friends will see your posts, and if they haven’t decided on whether or not to attend the party, your posts might make the difference.

Once the event starts, everything is within the event.

Plan Your Facebook Parties Set Up

Your Facebook parties’ success depends on your set up and organization. You’ll need to spend time setting up the photos you want to post and creating at least one video.

To avoid confusion be sure to be clear on what you expect to happen during the event!

Here are examples of what to post in the event:

Post a You Tube video of a popular song and let the guests “jam” before you start
Welcome video – using the hostess’s name, welcome them, let them know how it will work and that this is going to be fun
Ask for participation by “liking” or commenting – put names into a drawing for a free prize
Quick video clip (3-5 min) about your product, monthly special, delivery – any important details
Show images of products you want to focus on, customer special, hostess benefits, new teammate perks – topics you’d be sure to cover at a home party
Extra posts – follow you on your fan page, Pinterest, Twitter…
Stop in the middle and post – Are you having fun? What’s your favorite __?
Optional second video of a product or testimony
Special incentive if they order before a certain time
Let’s shop – add your online shop page or email for orders, remind them of the sale/special
Listen while you shop – post another song link
Let them know when the party will close, how to get in touch with you

Thank you!
Facebook Party Tips

An online party can be successful and remember that it takes effort just like a live party.

8 Online Party Tips:

Have everything ready BEFORE the event – take the time to set it up, then you can use it over and over!
Post daily leading up to the event.
Post the morning of the event and an hour prior.
Tell people how it works and what they should do.
Have everything ready BEFORE the event – take the time to set it up, then you can use it over and over!

Make your photos FUN, Colorful and Inviting! Use sites like Picmonkey to add text or make collages of multiple images. Or use Instasize on your phone or ipad!!!
Make your own ecards (so popular on Facebook) and create it around your product/hosting/business
Create a word doc to have all of your posts typed out and what picture you are posting with it so you can copy and paste right into the event to help you go faster once the event starts.

How Facebook Messenger Can Work for YOU and YOUR Business!!!

Facebook Messenger
can work for YOU an YOUR Business!!!
How you ask?

Facebook recently announced that it has passed 800 million ACTIVE users per month on Facebook Messenger. You don’t have to have a Facebook account to use Facebook Messenger! This is simply another way for Facebook to capture users that might not love Facebook. The interesting part about Facebook Messenger is that it does so much more than most of us realize!

Top 20 Tips and Tricks

1.  Make voice and video calls for free

Yes, you can uses Facebook Messenger for voice or video calls! Oh and by the way, it’s totally FREE to do so! How many times have you gotten frustrated with having to type out what you want to say? Now you don’t have to! Simply click on the video or phone icon in the top right corner of the screen and start a call right from with the Messenger conversation.

2. Send or receive money – WHAT?

You can send and request MONEY using Facebook Messenger. Really, really! You do have to add a debit card issued by a U.S. bank but then you are in business. You can not only send money but you can also receive money, similar to Paypal. The only difference is that Facebook does NOT charge to send or receive funds. This feature is intended for friends and family and not for commerce so please keep that in mind.

3. Share your physical location

Let’s say you are meeting friends or family at a new restaurant for dinner and you arrive first. Everyone else is relying on you to send them the location of the restaurant. Normally, we would hit the Google machine and find the address, copy and paste it and send it via text or messenger, right? This capability makes it a lot easier! Simply open up a conversation with whomever you want to share your physical location, tap the … button below the conversation, click location and you will see a blue circle with your current location. Tap send and viola! You can also share a location other than where you are physically by using the search bar below the map to search for the location you would like to send. When you find the location, tap it and hit send. Easy peezy!

4.  Send bigger likes

This is one of those random things that you aren’t sure you need but sometimes it’s cool to know anyway :0).  To send bigger thumbs up inside of the messenger chat, tap and hold the blue thumbs up button until it grows in size. There are sound effects too so make sure your sound is on!

5. Add other apps to Facebook Messenger

You can add apps like Giphy or ESPN direct to your Messenger. Then you can have some fun sharing animated gif’s, memes or even highlights directly from ESPN. Yes, you can search for themed content.

6. Use messenger from your desktop

Did you know that there is a desktop version of Facebook’s Messenger? Who knew, right?

7. Surprise, surprise…you don’t have to have a Facebook account to use Facebook Messenger

You can use Facebook’s Messenger without having to have a Facebook account. You simply sign up with a valid phone number.

8. Organize group conversations

If you communicate with multiple people, this is a great option for organizing those conversations! You can pin the group conversations that you want to monitor or communicate with routinely.

9. Send videos to friends

You can send videos to your Facebook friends using the camera icon. If you tap and hold the button, it will allow you to record a video. You can also send a previously recorded video by using the image icon to search and find the video you want to share inside your photo gallery.

10. See which friends are logged in that you can chat with

Click on the people icon at the bottom of the Facebook messenger app and you will be able to see all your Active Facebook friends. It will show you if they are connected via the web or through their mobile device.

11. Add contacts with just a phone number

As covered above, you don’t have to have a Facebook account to use the messenger app. They can sign up with their phone number but you can chat with them using their phone number as well! Simply add their phone numbers in your contact list and you can start chatting with them immediately.

12. Stickers

This might be might favorite feature of Facebook messenger! I love stickers! “Stickers are illustrations or animations of characters that you can send to friends. They’re a great way to share how you’re feeling and add personality to your chats.” (Facebook Help). If you click on the smiley face, the stickers will pop up. You can download ones that you like and you can also search the stickers by theme.

13. Mute notifications for a period of time

Ugghhh, those pesky notifications can be annoying, right? The good news is that you can mute them for a period of time if you don’t want to totally turn them off. Simply go to your phone’s settings, scroll down until you see Messenger in your list of apps. Click on that and then select “notifications”.

14. Check to see if your message has been read

Facebook shows you the status of your messages. This chart will help guide to you…

  15. Privacy first…

The first sentence of your message shows up in push notifications and if you don’t want to risk someone seeing what others are sending your way, pop into your settings tab and turn this feature off.

16. Coming soon…your own virtual assistant called “M”

This isn’t available to everyone yet but wow, it does sound interesting! It’s basically a version of the iPhone’s Siri. You can ask a question and get assistance. This could be your very own personal assistant.

Facebook Terminology

There seems to be a lot of confusion on Facebook Terminology. Hope this clears some of the confusion up:

TIMELINE: is PERSONAL. Everyone has one. And you cannot have groups and/or pages without one. It shows all of your activity on Facebook: status updates, photos, comments, pages you follow and more. Timelines are not meant for business.

PAGE: is a profile for brands, businesses, celebrities, and more. You can like a page to be kept up to date on what they’re doing. This is what you should be using for your business (or should be, anyway). You can have more than one PAGE, but only one TIMELINE or PERSONAL PROFILE. Pages do show up in searches, which is to your advantage from a marketing standpoint. Pages are public and that cannot be changed since they are geared for business.

GROUP: is where you join or can invite people to if you create your own. They can be PUBLIC, CLOSED, or SECRET. Again, you can have more than one. From a marketing standpoint, they do not show up in searches, so it doesn't help your ranking in them. Groups are really useful for your teams, employees since you can upload files, where you can't with pages or timelines.
